CO-CURRICULAR/EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Charlemont High School offers a wide range of Extra-Curricular activities to students at all level. Most clubs and societies meet once per week after school. Usually meetings are held between 2:50 pm and 4:00 pm. However, in sports, daily training is encouraged. The importance of Extra Curricular Activities in the lives of students is to:
- Provide opportunities for students to socialize after school
- Provide mental breaks from the rigours of school work
- Provide exposure for student that will help to broaden their education and make them a more rounded individual
- Allow for the possibilities of discovering leadership qualities
- Provide avenues for students to gain self-confidence and poise
- Offer challenges which help to stimulate students‟ brain
- Develop cultural and human awareness
- Provide motivation and valuable experience in reasoning and repartee
- Provide avenues for revealing students‟ talents.
It is compulsory that each student participates in at least one sport and 2 other co-curricular activities as there is always something positive to be gained.

SPORTS
Like any aspect of school life, co- curricular activities including sports play an important part in the lives of Charlemont High School students. Students participate in national, international competitions in co-curricular activities in the various clubs, societies and sporting activities.
Students are encouraged to participate in games and other extracurricular activities but not to the detriment of their academic performance. A balance between the two aspects of the students' development is advised.
